On Sunday, Lindsay Thomas set out to enjoy himself on the football field once again - something he hasn’t been able to do for some time with immense pressure placed on his shoulders after some well documented goal kicking yips.

Playing for North Ballarat, he did just that and turned in a well-rounded performance which included three important goals and only one behind.

“I kicked two goals from set shots and one on the run so I was pretty happy with that and the win,” Thomas told kangaroos.com.au.

“I suppose I just tried to have some fun out there and take a bit of pressure off.”

But it wasn’t just his goal kicking that impressed with his defensive pressure also a highlight. The 23 year-old had eight tackles and 18 possessions, of which eight were contested, to his name.

“Obviously I want to get back into the seniors so today was about going back to the VFL and just doing everything right. My confidence is up and I definitely had the right attitude out there I think.”

Thomas played forward and at times won the ball out on a wing for the Roosters during their 11-point win over the Box Hill Hawks.
