The Carlton Football Club today advised the AFL that it intended to lodge an appeal after last night's Tribunal case involving Chris Judd.

Judd was found guilty of misconduct in that he made unnecessary contact to the face of Michael Rischitelli and suspended for three matches.

Carlton has appealed on the basis that the decision was so unreasonable that no Tribunal acting reasonably could have come to that decision having regard to the evidence before it, the classification of the offence was manifestly excessive and the sanction imposed was manifestly excessive.

The Appeals Board will sit at 5.30pm tomorrow, Thursday September 10, to hear the case.
