MIDFIELD guns Sam Mitchell and Luke Hodge topped Hawthorn’svoting at the 2007 Brownlow Medal count, but the Hawks will be most pleased by theireven range of contributors.

Twelve Hawks won votes, with veterans – like 1999 BrownlowMedal winner Shane Crawford – getting amongst it, alongside youngsters like 21-year-oldClinton Young.

Mitchell had five best on grounds in his final tally of 21,which left him outright fifth overall, eight votes behind winner Jimmy Bartelbut a vote ahead of pre-count favourite Gary Ablett.

Jordan Lewis and Brad Sewell also polled brilliantly for theHawks, while crowd favourite Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin can add five votes to his memorable heroicsin 2007.
