Dalziell will make his first senior appearance since injuring his knee back in Round 5 against Geelong at Skilled Stadium.
The 2008 Rising Star nominee missed seven matches with the injury before returning through the Lions Reserves side last month. He collected 39 disposals, took 20 marks and kicked three goals in the reserves’ win against Southport last weekend to demand his spot back in the side.
Dalziell – who was recruited from East Fremantle in Western Australia – will now get to use his elite running ability on the wide open spaces of Subiaco Oval against the Dockers.
Meanwhile, Jared Brennan also returns to the side after serving a one match suspension for head-butting Port Adelaide midfielder Josh Carr back in Round 14.
Brennan’s inclusion will certainly help bolster the Lions’ thin ruck stocks and also provide Senior Coach Michael Voss with another midfield option.
Dalziell and Brennan replace injured duo Jed Adcock (knee) and Matt Austin (back).
Adcock injured his knee early in last week’s win over Geelong and is likely to miss the remainder of the 2009 season while Austin has not recovered from a heavy collision during last Saturday night’s match.
