Adelaide Football Club launch two new homes at the river and the beach ...
In season 2010 the Adelaide Football Club built the Crows Beach House with the home selling well before auction for $550,000, an outstanding result for the Club which set a significant benchmark for beach house sales at Black Point Beachcomber.
Following from this success, two new homes will be created in Season 2011, offering South Australians the chance to live, holiday or invest in a unique river setting or at the beach.
The new addition to Crows Home developments is the ‘Crows River Retreat’ at the magnificent Aruma Ski Resort at Walker Flat, which is arguably one of South Australia’s finest stretches of River Murray frontage and perfect for all water sports.
Prominent AFC Board member Peter Hurley and Club greats Mark Ricciuto and Simon Goodwin purchased the site in 2006 and immediately went to Kym Burke, Managing Director of Burke Urban, to join forces and develop the project to its full potential. It is set to become the first community resort of its type on the Murray River in South Australia.
The Crows River Retreat is a partnership built once again on the generosity of those at the very heart of the Club. Burke Urban’s involvement in the highly successful Crows Beach House at Black Point prompted Peter Hurley, Simon Goodwin, Mark Ricciuto and Kym Burke, to consider a similar model for Aruma.
They have generously donated one site to the Club of just 18 exclusive sites available and whilst the Crows River House will be the pinnacle home, the Crows will be opening the whole site for sale.
Mark Ricciuto and Simon Goodwin are so passionate about the site that they are building their own family river home at Aruma for their children to enjoy. Those interested in sharing this unique lifestyle on the River will have two of our most famous sons as neighbours!
“I speak on behalf of Peter and Mark and we are delighted to have the Club develop a site at Aruma for the direct benefit of the Club we hold so dear,” Kym Burke said. “We are passionate about the success of the Club on the field and we plan to ensure that this is a success for the Club off the field.”
In addition to the Crows River Retreat, the Crows Beach House 2 will be built on Lot 728 Outlook Road Black Point in the stunning Beachcomber development and this is just two doors along from our original Beach Home.
Teamwork is vital in footy and this has carried through to the Crows River Retreat. Once again, Crows Premier partner Rivergum Homes Managing Director Victor Said has jumped straight in and will build a magnificent new river home that will set the standard for the site. The design is stunning and takes in the 180 degree views of the river from the upper balcony.
“The Crows Beach House project set a high standard for commercial partnerships within our Club and my team is very excited about Rivergum Homes showcasing our diversity with the Crows River Retreat,” stated Victor Said. “We are long term Crows partners and we see these two projects as a great statement about our commitment to the commercial viability and well being of the Club.”
These two projects - the Crows River Retreat and Crows Beach House 2 - are vitally important to the ongoing financial success of our Club. As members would be aware, our Club is being stretched as we strive for greater commercial positives outside of traditional football income streams.
Adelaide Football Club CEO Steven Trigg said: “2010 was a really tough year for us and in reality things like the Crows River Retreat and Crows Beach House 2 are vital. These two projects are testament to the level of commitment and generosity we enjoy as a Club and we are indebted to Victor, Peter, Kym and Mark for their vision and enthusiasm to create a legacy.”
