The first five Collingwood supporters to add "Star Assassin" as a friend on facebook (click here) leaving a message containing "Star Assassin play live at the East Brunswick club" on May 30 will receive a double pass to the concert.

2009 proved to be one chaotic year for Star Assassin. After releasing their debut album
‘Bleeding to the Circle’, the boys spent the better part of the year, cementing new drummer

Mike White, splitting with independent record label Vemma Records and writing a stack of material for Star Assassin’s forthcoming album “Revelations”, which is due to be released in November 2010. As a result of the bands most defining year to date, vocalist Simon Hynes says he’s “never felt more alive.”

2010 is now shaping up to be no different, with the release of their new single “Sickness” to ITunes May 10th and a seven show promotional tour along the east coast of Australia, the first show of which kicks off with “Thousand Needles In Red”, the latest project for The Butterfly Effect’s Clint Boge. The bands new single “Sickness” is a taste for things to come from Star Assassin, the single is an emotionally charged, head thumping track driven by a stalking baseline and powered by a devastating chorus. The single was recorded with Australian producer Rod Maslin in March this year and is the first single from the bands much anticipated new album.

The Second Single “Slave” is due for release in August 2010 and will be mastered in New York by the legendary Ted Jensen. Ted Jensen has mastered albums for the likes of Three Days Grace, Alice in Chains and Green Day.

Star Assassin’s profile continues to grow rapidly as the band ventures into new territory playing shows across Australia and returning to New Zealand later in the year for a second round of shows to promote their new album.

The boys are now excited to get back on the road and to give their fans a taste of what’s to come from this four piece Melbourne based Alt rock act.
