Geelong’s brilliance over the past 3 plus seasons has seen many new records established, and on Saturday the Cats did it again.

By outscoring the Demons in each of the four quarters, Geelong has now ‘won’ 20 consecutive quarters of football, a feat never before achieved in AFL.

The streak began back in round six against Richmond and has continued in wins over Sydney, Brisbane, Collingwood and Melbourne.

The biggest ‘win’ over those 20 quarters came in the first term against the Tigers, with Geelong booting 7.2 (44) to Richmond’s 0.2 (2).

The closest quarter was the opener against Collingwood, with the Cats edging it 1.3 (9) to 1.2 (8).

In 13 of the 20 quarters the Cats have kicked five or more goals, and from a defensive stand point Geelong has held its opponent to two or less goals 13 times.
