The Kangaroos have appointed consulting firm Gemba to undertake a strategic review of the club’s future opportunities.

Kangaroos CEO Rick Aylett says the appointment, made on Friday, would give the club a clear understanding of the best options for its future.

“Gemba will assess the Victorian market and review the Gold Coast research,” Aylett said.

“This will provide us with the detailed information required to make the important decisions to ensure we establish a strong foundation from which to grow.

“They will be analysing the membership, commercial and operational potential of the business in the short, medium and long-term and will look at how we can maximise that for the benefit of the Kangaroos.

“The objective is to establish a blueprint for a successful club both on and off the field.  We are not in the business of simply surviving, rather we are looking at how we can achieve sustainable growth and prosper in this extremely competitive industry.

“This football club and its members deserve nothing less.”

The review is due to be completed by the year’s end and it will be considered by the Board upon its completion.  External funding has been sourced to meet the cost of the study.

A members’ forum will be held on Sunday July 22nd, before the Round 16 game against Melbourne at the Telstra Dome with CEO Rick Aylett, Chairman Graham Duff and the Board in attendance.

“We understand that our members hold the club very dear, and it is vital that we provide them with the certainty that their club will be a thriving and integral part of the AFL landscape for generations to come,” Aylett said.
