Adam Cooney 15%
Daniel Cross 12%
Barry Hall 19%
Brain Lake 54%
Total votes: 463
It’s been another big year for Bulldogs fullback Brian Lake and our fans have voted him as the most impressive player so far in 2010 with a whopping 54% of the vote.
Lake has been a ‘rock’ in defence all year and has continued on his good form following his 2009 All Australian selection.
Recent forays into the forward line have again raised the question of where he could be best used by Rodney Eade but there is no doubt that he remains arguably the best performing full back in the competition.
Not surprisingly Barry Hall finished in second position (19%) after making a big impact with his new Club. Hall has been in great form for the Bulldogs with 46 goals already in 2010 and his leadership both on and off the field is proving important for our up and coming youngsters.
Hall sparked a media frenzy following his confrontation with North Melbourne’s Scott Thompson in Round 9 but there is no doubt that the big man has been on his best behaviour for his new Club and has been a fantastic addition to the side.
Brownlow Medallist Adam Cooney finished with 15% of the vote despite the fact that the midfielder is yet to play his best football in 2010.
He has however racked up 350 possessions so far this Season and following the week’s rest will hopefully come back with some strong form for the remainder of the year.
A victim of his own success, externally Cooney has high expectations on his performance but he remains one of the best midfielders in the competition.
Finally, fellow midfielder Daniel Cross finished with 12% of the vote. The former Charles Sutton Medallist and ‘quiet achiever’ has been ever reliable for the Bulldogs and continues to do the job week in and week out.
Never one to court the accolades, Cross continues to be a vital cog in the Bulldogs engine room.
In this week’s poll we are asking, where do you predict the Bulldogs will finish on the ladder after the Home and Away Season?
