Collingwood v Essendon, MCG

- Last week's loss to North Melbourne was the first time Collingwood has been defeated in consecutive games since rounds 18 and 19, 2006.

- The Bombers have won the clearances in the past five meetings with Collingwood.

- Collingwood has grabbed 12 contested marks per game this season – the second most in the league.

- Paul Medhurst is currently ranked No. 1 in the AFL for inside 50s and has kicked a goal in every game this season.

- Josh Fraser booted four goals last week – his most in a game since round 18, 2002 when he kicked five against the Blues.


Fremantle v Geelong, Subiaco Oval

- In all five games this season Fremantle has won the hit-out count but been beaten in the clearances.

- Josh Carr has averaged 26 disposals, seven marks and four clearances in his past three games against the Cats.

- Ryan Crowley has laid 18 tackles so far this season – the equal most at the club. In round 17 against the Cats last season he won 20 disposals, had four rebound 50s and laid four tackles.

- The Cats have averaged 22 marks inside 50 this season – ranked No. 1 in the AFL and eight more than the competition average.

- Geelong has the competition’s three leading ball-winners in 2008 – Gary Ablett (148), Joel Corey (144) and Jimmy Bartel (141).

Carlton v Adelaide, MCG

- Adelaide has won five of its past six games against Carlton. The Blues’ last win over the Crows was in round 11, 2004 when Brendan Fevola booted seven goals.

- In the past two weeks, Carlton’s defence has been able to rebound the ball from 77% of opposition inside 50s without conceding a goal – ranked second in the competition.

- Jarrad Waite had 21 disposals and eight marks last week. He also had 13 spoils – ranked No. 1 in the AFL for the round.

- The Crows have won two of their past seven games at the MCG.

- In his last three games against Carlton, Simon Goodwin has averaged 29 disposals, five marks, four clearances and six inside 50s.


Western Bulldogs v West Coast, Telstra Dome

- The Bulldogs had 14 individual goalkickers last week against the Tigers – the equal most of any side this season.

- The Bulldogs have not scored more than 73 points in their past four games against the Eagles, but have topped 120 points in all five games in 2008.

- Brad Johnson had only nine disposals last week, his fewest in a game since round 20, 2002 against Melbourne.

- West Coast has laid 47 tackles inside its forward 50 this season – ranked equal second in the AFL.

- Youngster Ben McKinley has kicked 12 goals this season – five more than any other Eagle.


Port Adelaide v St Kilda, AAMI Stadium

- In their round five clash against the Saints last season, Port Adelaide won the inside 50 count by 22 – its second best result in a game last season.

- Port Adelaide allowed the Eagles to kick the final seven goals of the game last week and the Lions kicked the last nine goals of their round four clash. They have won just one final quarter this season.

- In the past three weeks St Kilda has entered its forward 50 through the corridor 54% of the time – the most of any side.

- St Kilda laid 69 tackles last week against the Bombers, its most in a game this season.

- Brendon Goddard finished with 21 disposals, 10 marks, five tackles and one goal in his round five match against the Power last season.


Brisbane v Melbourne, Gabba

- Brisbane has kicked 52% of its goals from marks this season – the third most of any side.

- Anthony Corrie leads the Lions with 22 inside 50s this season. He has also had 13 running bounces for the season – ranked No. 1 at the club.

- Melbourne has allowed its opposition to kick 19 goals from within 15 metres so far this season – the most of any side.

- Melbourne has won the clearance from just 38% of centre bounces this season – ranked 15th.

- Austin Wonaeamirri won 12 contested possessions and two uncontested possessions last week against the Blues.


North Melbourne v Sydney, Telstra Dome

- North Melbourne has not won the hard-ball gets in any of its five games this season.

- North Melbourne has won the free kicks in every game this season. It has won 23 more free kicks than it has conceded – the best record of any side so far in 2008.

- Hamish McIntosh has won just 86 hit-outs this season – ranked 11th in the competition.

- Sydney has retained possession from 63% of its kicks into the forward 50 this season – ranked second.

- Kieren Jack has laid 23 tackles so far this season – the third most at Sydney. His 19 inside 50s ranks second at the club.


Hawthorn v Richmond, MCG

- Hawthorn is yet to be outscored in a second or fourth quarter this season.

- Hawthorn has had more inside 50s than its opposition in all 10 of its MCG games since the start of 2007.

- Clinton Young has taken 50 uncontested marks this season – nine more than any other player in the competition.

- In the past three weeks, Richmond has outscored its opposition by 34 points in the time-on period of matches.

- Richard Tambling’s numbers have improved in every game this season, following his 23 disposals against the Bulldogs. His 20 inside 50s this season rank second at the club.
