The former Brisbane Lion's pre-season was derailed in February when he underwent a knee arthroscopy and he was only scheduled to rejoin the main group at training on Tuesday afternoon.
However, Bradshaw said he had no worries about his knee's ability to withstand the rigours of match conditions.
"In the last couple of weeks I've been doing heaps of agility work just to test out the movement sideways and I've done a lot of one-on-one stuff - wrestling and marking work," he said.
"I feel really confident and I'm not second-guessing myself at all."
Coach Paul Roos told supporters and media at the club's season launch on Tuesday that Bradshaw would be selected if he trained strongly leading up to the game.
The 31-year-old welcomed Roos' vote of confidence, but conceded he would have to rely on his experience to gel with his new teammates against the Saints.
"I did a little bit of skills with the guys before Christmas but I haven't had a great deal of time to be out there which has been frustrating," he said.
"Obviously you want to be out there learning the way the boys play but this week, hopefully I can learn as much as I can in the few days before round one."
Bradshaw said his first few months in Sydney had affirmed his decision to accept the Swans' offer ahead of a deal to join Carlton.
"Obviously it's a bit rough to start off with, when you've been somewhere for 14 years to move somewhere else with four kids, but a few months down the track, we're absolutely loving it," he said.
"I'm not big on the media down in Melbourne so I think Brisbane and Sydney are a little bit similar in that way, and that swayed me a bit more to come to Sydney."
The emergence of exciting draftees Lewis Jetta and Gary Rohan, combined with the experience added by a plethora of off-season recruits, has left Bradshaw keenly anticipating footy's return this weekend.
"You see these young blokes like Jetta and Rohan running around and we've also got a lot of players from other clubs who have been traded here. Just watching them play, it's so exciting," he said.
"We've only lost one game by one point in the pre-season ... it's hard to put it into words. I'm just looking forward to getting out there and playing."
Daniel Bradshaw is a $310,100 forward in this year's Toyota AFL Dream Team competition.
