Speaking exclusively to afl.com.au, the Lions skipper said he hoped to see the Coleman medallist light up the MCG and win the Norm Smith Medal.
"I'm going to go for a key forward, I'm going to go for Buddy Franklin," Brown said.
"I hope Buddy has a big day out and it'd be great for the AFL if he can turn one on similar to Gary Ablett [Snr] back in 1989.
"But I think Geelong will just beat them."
Brown believes this week's AFL Grand Finalists are evenly matched, with the outcome potentially being determined by whichever team has "an off day".
The triple premiership player knows the pressure Geelong is under as the Cats – like his side six years ago – head into Saturday's season decider a warm favourite to take back-to-back titles.
The Lions met Collingwood in 2002 after beating Essendon the previous year and the powerhouse forward said it was important Geelong, which has lost just one match in a stellar 2008, put its all-conquering ways behind it and set its collective mind solely on the Hawks.
"You do feel the heavier pressure of expectation because at the end of the day you still have to be able to go out on the field and perform," Brown said.
"Hawthorn and Geelong are pretty closely matched, I believe, so if any side has an off day I'm sure it'll cost them a grand final.
"So they'll be conscious of that, Geelong, but they've just really got to focus on not what happened last year or what's happened during the year -- they've got to focus on their roles and rip into a new game."
