ESSENDON announced that it had re-signed Brent Stanton, Alwyn Davey, Leroy Jetta and David Myers on Tuesday.

All four players signed two-year contracts that will see them at the club until the end of the 2012 season.

There had been trade talk about a number of uncontracted Essendon players during this year's exchange period, but the arrival of James Hird has seen most re-sign.

The only player still being talked about as a trade target that is yet to re-sign is Bachar Houli.

Essendon's football operations manager Paul Hamilton said the club was pleased it was able to retain all four players.

“We are really pleased that these four players have recommitted to the club for the next two years,” Hamilton said.

“We are excited about what they can deliver to the club in that period of time.

“We believe all four of these players have a strong desire to improve themselves and play a strong role in the future success of the Essendon Football Club."
