In winning the round 3 SwansTV Play of the Day, Jude Bolton has set a record by becoming the first Swans player to win the prestigious award twice, although it was his world record against West Coast on Saturday night that he might cherish a little more.

Bolton’s final tackle count of 19 was the highest ever recorded in an individual game, beating the previous mark of 16 held by Gold Coast Suns’ Jared Brennan - then at Brisbane - and Geelong’s Jimmy Bartel.

Bolton, who has started the 2011 season in brilliant fashion, set the tone for the team around the contests in the 13-point victory over the Eagles, with the Swans finishing in front on the match tackle count 111-69.

Bolton won the round one Play of the Day for his diving mark and goal in the last quarter of the draw against Melbourne, was in the running for last week’s award for his tackle and winning goal against Essendon, and took out this round’s award ahead of a number of individual efforts.

Lewis Jetta’s spectacular running goal in the second quarter was certainly in contention, as was Shane Mumford’s mark against Dean Cox and an oncoming Nic Naitanui in the dying seconds, Gary Rohan’s cameo as a substitute, and another goal-saving run and spoil from Martin Mattner.
