“A camp like Utah doesn’t come cheaply but people need to know that every single person who attended that camp, paid out of their own pocket to be there. That includes players, coaches and all staff.
“Included in that, is the fact eight very special supporters contributed in excess of $20,000 each to participate in the camp and help us with the overall cost.
“That’s what makes this club so special, everyone knows and understands what we’re all about and what we’re trying to achieve and is more than willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen.”
The third year senior coach says because of these generous contributions, the camp costs the club next to nothing.
“We also have players like Brent Harvey and Drew Petrie, along with some coaches and staff, join the Shinboner Club which is an exclusive coterie. Everyone is doing their part and it’s fantastic.”
Scott and the team recently returned from the icy mountains of Utah, the trip the club’s second in as many years.
“It’s crucial it isn’t just a one-off event. We have to build on the Utah experience every year. There’s already been a significant improvement in the amount of training-load the players were able to handle from last year to this year.
“We have to take advantage of that and make sure we keep going back and continue to lay the foundations for every pre-season campaign for the coming years.
“While we’re asking our members to help reduce debt and buy a membership, they should have the comfort of knowing we’ll leave no stone unturned in trying to improve in every way possible. They should also know that we are doing our part as we are all in this together.”
