THE BRISBANE Lions have begun the next stage of their off-field restructure by launching a search for a new chief executive.

Interim CEO Steven Wright will lead the mission to find a permanent replacement for Michael Bowers, who stepped down in October.

"There have been a number of exciting changes to our board, administration and football department throughout the off-season, but the appointment of a high quality chief executive is most critical," Lions chairman Angus Johnson said.

"Steven Wright has done a magnificent job in restructuring operations and commencing preparations for 2011.

"Now we're looking for a permanent CEO to help lead our Club into its next phase, and that includes guiding us back to the top of the AFL competition."

The Lions had a busy off-season, the key plank of which was a five-week review of the club's operations.

Bowers, former Adelaide powerbroker John Reid, organisational specialist Terry Coyne and senior coach Michael Voss were all part of the review panel.

Upon its conclusion, Bowers and the club parted ways.
