Nathan Krakouer has been included in the Power’s final 22 to face the Dockers on Sunday afternoon at Subiaco. As PortAdelaideFC.com.au reported yesterday, Brett Ebert has been forced out with an ankle injury.

The livewire forward, who was recruited from Claremont in Western Australia, will return to Subiaco – where he debuted in round 1, 2007 – to play his second game for the season.

Last year’s best and fairest winner Kane Cornes will play his 150th game while star recruit David Rodan reaches the century milestone. Click here to have your say on the two milestone men.

Here’s Power General Manager – Football Operations Peter Rohde’s inside word on this week’s selection…

Krak played well in Perth in the round five game against the Eagles and he’s had consistent form with the Magpies in the SANFL, so he’s been rewarded for that good form. We see him as a long-term prospect for the club so we were keen to get him in and give him some experience. It’s not a straight swap for Ebert – Nathan isn’t the marking forward Brett is – but he can certainly play up forward or on the wing or even at half back.

Robbie Gray will play more inside 50 and Chad will potentially spend a bit more time up forward. At a big ground like Subiaco, we probably don’t need to have as many permanent forwards because we tend to play more players up the ground anyway. If we’re looking for a marking forward we’ve got Pettigrew or Thurstans who can go forward if we need. So while Krakouer might play a similar role to Ebert at times, he’s just as likely to play further up the ground which gives us an extra running player on Subiaco.

Paul Stewart will be the traveling emergency. He’s had some good form in the SANFL and we’re just looking for an opportunity to give him a shot in the senior side. Stewie is a versatile player so if someone was to go down before the game, he could come in and play a variety of roles. But, at this stage there isn’t anyone in any doubt.

We’ve lost two in a row and we haven’t changed the side much, so we’re showing some faith in the team, but guys like Nick Lower, Damon White and Greg Bentley are all on the fringe waiting for an opportunity to get a game.

We’re hopeful that Brett Ebert will only miss the one game, but it’s too early to tell at this stage.

On a side not, Nick Salter will play for South Australia against Victoria in this Saturday’s SANFL State of Origin match at the Adelaide Oval. He’s been in great form for the Eagles so we wish him all the best as he represents the state.
