Hawthorn Football Club will receive a draft pick at the end of round one in exchange for Campbell Brown’s move to the Gold Coast.

The selection for Brown may be activated by Hawthorn at the end of round one in any of the 2010 - 2014 AFL Draft Selection meetings.

If the Club chooses to use the pick in this year's draft, notification must be made to the AFL by Friday 5 November.

For a selection to be activated in any particular year, Hawthorn will be required to notify the AFL by the last Tuesday of that particular year, prior to the start of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

The selection will be immediately placed after the selection of the premiership team of that season (which concludes round one), and any compensation pick under AFL Rule six.

In the case of two or more clubs activating an end of round one selection in the one AFL Draft Meeting, the club(s) that is (are) placed lower on the premiership ladder in that particular season, will be placed first in the selection order.

Hawthorn has the right to on-trade its compensation selection to another club.

If the Club on-trades its compensation selection to another club, the selection may be used in that year's AFL Draft Selection meeting, or in any other year up to the 2014 AFL Draft.

The lodgement of the contract offer to Brown by the Gold Coast Football Club means the SUNS cannot automatically select another uncontracted player from Hawthorn.
