The Collingwood Football Club regretfully advises members and supporters that former Magpie Jeff Clifton has passed away at the age of 61.

Clifton, who was the full-back in the Magpies' 1970 Grand Final side, lost his battle with prostate cancer on Monday.

Clifton played 102 games in black and white stripes from 1969-74.

Recruited from Floreat Park in Western Australia, the imposing backman became a successfull architect post football and had a significant role in the construction of the Ponsford Stand at the MCG.

The Collingwood Football Club extends its condolences to the family.
