BRISBANE Lions recruit Brendan Fevola has been named to face former club Carlton in Friday afternoon's NAB Challenge match at Visy Park.

The Fevola-Carlton showdown had been set for the Gabba in round two of the home and away season, however the Lions have taken this opportunity provided by the pre-season competition.

It will also be the first chance for Michael Voss to see how Fevola works in earnest with captain Jonathan Brown, who did not play in the Lions' NAB Cup loss to the Western Bulldogs.

Brown kicked 85 goals for the Lions last season, while Fevola had 89 for the Blues.

Carlton traded Fevola to the Lions in October, receiving key position prospect Lachlan Henderson and a first-round pick (No.12 overall) in the NAB AFL Draft in return.

Henderson has been included in the Blues' 29-man squad, which will be trimmed to 26 ahead of the match.

Western Bulldogs recruit Barry Hall has been named to line up against Hawthorn this Friday night in the NAB Cup quarter final at Etihad Stadium.

Hall, 33, will play his first official game for his new club if he remains in the side, which will be trimmed from 29 to 26 before the match.

Also named to face the Hawks are Nathan Eagleton and Ryan Hargrave. Eagleton missed round one of the competition with a knee while Hargrave was rested.

Young ruckman Jordan Roughead has been named for his second senior hit-out, and first against cousin Jarryd.

For Hawthorn, former Roo Josh Gibson, who missed the first round with a hamstring, has been named along with Sam Grimley and Carl Peterson, who are yet to debut.

Lance Franklin has also been included despite receiving a corked buttock against Richmond in the first week.

Collingwood will be without captain Nick Maxwell, forwards Paul Medhurst and Travis Cloke, midfielders Luke Ball and Tarkyn Lockyer, and ruckman Darren Jolly for Friday's NAB Challenge match against Adelaide in Alice Springs.

Josh Fraser, Tyson Goldsack, Shane O'Bree, Anthony Corrie, Ryan Cook, Chris Dawes, and Jaxson Barham have been named to play their first games of the year, while Ben Sinclair, Jarryd Blair and Jack Carter could all debut.

Adelaide defender Nathan Bock has been named for his first game since round 18 last year and midfielder Scott Thompson for his first crack at 2010.

Rookie Ricky Henderson and draftee Jack Gunston have also been named while Chris Knights (foot), Brett Burton (knee) and Patrick Dangerfield (rested) are missing from the round one side.

Brendan Fevola is a $393,300 forward in this year’s Toyota AFL Dream Team.
