The Kangaroos will blood four first-gamers in this Saturday’s season opener against Collingwood at the MCG.
Peel Thunder’s Matt Riggio will play his first game along with 2006 draftees Lachlan Hansen (Pick 3), Lindsay Thomas (Pick 53) and Matt Campbell (34 Rookie Draft).
The Kangaroos today upgraded Matt Campbell to the primary list from the rookie-list in place of Nathan Thompson, who has been placed on the long-term injury list, so he could make his debut on Saturday.
Kangaroos General Manager – Football Operations Donald McDonald said it was an exciting day for the Roos.
“To kick off our 2007 season with four first-gamers is tremendous for the club,” McDonald said.
“They have really impressed since arriving and fans should be pumped about their futures. All the fans should get along to the game on Saturday because it promises to be a great day for the North Melbourne Football Club with these guys playing their first games as well as the club celebrating the 1977 premiership.”
