PAUL ROOS says his ruck duo of Darren Jolly and 'Spida' Everitt had their best game of the season in the Swans' demolition of Richmond.

Jolly, who had 39 hitouts to Troy Simmonds' 18, was a dominant force in the 82-point win.

“They really complement each other,” Roos said of the Jolly-Everitt duo.

“Spida's such a smart player, which has helped 'Jolls' with his awareness of the game.

“'Jolls' has become a lot more aggressive with his defensive and offensive running.”

Everitt contributed with 11 hitouts and 12 disposals.

“I'm sure he [Jolly] watches Peter when he [Jolly] is on the bench," Roos said.

“Spida's really working his way into some good form. Both are good around the stoppages, and I thought today the two had their best game as a duo.”

When quizzed on the quality of the 82-point win, Roos alluded to the all-round team performance of his side.

“Probably in all areas, it was the best performance of the season. And Richmond … I really did rate them coming in.”

Roos feels the balance in his side is encouraging.

“We've got a really good balance between defence and attack, and we're still able to restrict teams with good scoreboard pressure," he said.

“Apart from 'Hally' [Barry Hall], we probably have our best team, which makes a difference. We've seen some real improvement from guys like [Paul] Bevan, who I think was outstanding this year.

“And [Marty] Mattner coming in, [Henry] Playfair coming in. Jarred Moore, [Craig] Bird … we've got quite a few guys who've improved.”

For the stats buffs, today's big win today was an appropriate way to rack up the club's 1000th game.

“I should be wearing the t-shirt, which I'm sure you can buy at all good stores," Roos joked.
