Geelong star James Kelly is under no illusion as to the challenge the Cats face against Fremantle on Friday night.

Speaking on CAT CHAT, Kelly noted that the Dockers confidence will be high after knocking out Hawthorn.

“They are a young side and they won their first final,” Kelly said.

“They’re having a real crack. We’re going to have to be ready for that and match their intensity. They’re up and about and they have really good players. We’re going to have to play our best footy to win.”

Kelly recalled the round three clash when Fremantle defeated the Cats by seven points.

“Last time their pressure and contested ball was good,” he said.

“They capitalized and got the win. We’re going to have to start well and get on top early.”

Kelly was joined by host Chris Appleby and award winning Herald Sun journalist Scott Gullan. The trio also discussed:

  • The Cats thrilling qualifying final against St Kilda
  • The umpiring controversy
  • The upcoming semi final against Fremantle
  • The selection headaches facing Geelong
  • Kelly’s All Australian nomination
