Kane Tenace and Henry Playfair have been overlooked for Geelong’s round one clash with St Kilda. The pair played in the Cats’ losing Wizard Home Loans Cup grand final side a fortnight ago.

Tall forward Playfair is an emergency for Saturday night’s re-match with the Saints at Telstra Dome. Brent Moloney and Charlie Gardiner, who did not play in the night grand final, are the other emergencies.

Tenace, the No.7 pick in the 2003 AFL National Draft, was cut after accumulating three possessions in the pre-season grand final. He was more impressive in the Cats’ win over Melbourne in the semi-final.

Geelong is without skipper Steven King (ankle), Steve Johnson (ankle) and ex-Hawk David Loats (knee) for the season opener.
