VIC METRO has rebounded from a disappointing loss to its Country rivals to dominate Tasmania in Round 2 of the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships.

Metro comfortably won every quarter and kept Tasmania scoreless in the final term to run out 96-point winners in freezing conditions in Hobart.

In the first of four matches to be played in the championships this weekend,  Metro bolted out of the blocks and shared the goals throughout the game, with 192cm Darcy Barden from the Northern Knights kicking five and Viv Michie from the Oakleigh Chargers three.

For Tasmania, Josh Green followed up his stellar game in Round 1 to again be the best player in green, collecting 31 touches.

Leading ball-winners for Metro included Ben Jacobs, who had 36 disposals across half-back and in the middle, while Tom Schneider was also prolific on the ball.

At 1-1, Metro now turns its attention to the game against South Australia on June 12 at Norwood Oval, while Tasmania face Northern Territory at Aurora Stadium on June 19.
