Our Queensland members and supporters really wanted it. Our Victorian members and supporters wanted it even more. More Brisbane Lions matches shown free-to-air and live, or at least in prime-time broadcasting slots.

This Saturday at least - we have it.

South-east Queensland viewers will get the NAB Cup Grand Final LIVE at 6:20pm on Channel Seven this Saturday night.

The network contacted the club to inform us they will be doing a shortened news bulletin from 6:00pm to allow for the match to be telecast live straight afterwards.

Melbourne viewers will receive their Grand Final coverage from 7:30pm (30 minute delay approx) on Channel Seven this Saturday night.

The Brisbane Lions refuse to read the form guide and have defeated this year's premiership fancies St Kilda, the Western Bulldogs and Geelong to reach the Grand Final against all external expectations.

The players have done their part and now the club asks all members and supporters to get right behind Channel Seven's decision and watch the game to ensure their ratings encourage similar broadcasting decisions throughout 2007.

At the recovery pool session last Saturday morning, players remarked on how much they appreciated the true diehard nature of their Melbourne members. And despite the downside of four weeks straight travel, the upside was definitely getting to play in front of their Victorian fans three extra times this season and meet them after the games.

Five players and an assistant coach would like to meet and thank all their Lions members and supporters in the Telstra Dome Foodcourt straight after the NAB Cup Grand Final (win or lose). See you there...

...and GO LIONS!!!
