In some great news for the Western Bulldogs, this week Peter Adam signed up as the 25,000th member, keeping the Club on track to achieve its goal of 30,000 members by Round One.

To celebrate this milestone in the ’Challenge 30K’, Club champion - and, fittingly, number 25 - Ryan Hargrave presented Mr Adam with a special signed 25 guernsey at Whitten Oval.

A delighted Mr Adam took the opportunity to tour the new Barkly Street facilities, which have undergone dramatic change since his time growing up in Footscray. A worthy recipient, Mr Adam has been a Western Bulldogs supporter and member since the 1960s, and was friends with one of the Club’s most-loved sons, Ted Whitten. As a council worker, Mr Adam even contributed to the Club when he installed lights in our grandstands. Today, he lives in Donvale and catches the train to most games to watch his beloved team with a group of equally enthusiastic Bulldogs fans.

The Western Bulldogs will continue to work towards its goal of signing 30,000 members before the 2011 Season kicks off, approaching the bigger goal of 38,000 members by season’s end.

Western Bulldogs CEO, Simon Garlick, says, “Membership is the lifeblood of any football club and we are no different. We are challenging all our members and fans to Get Behind Us in 2011 and be part of something special as we build a club for all the west to be proud of, both on and off the field.”

With just two weeks to go before the opening round, make sure you, your friends and family Get Behind Us in Season 2011.
