Players from MELBOURNEfc joined fellow TEAMelbourne athletes at Melbourne Park on Sunday for the inaugural TEAMelbourne Mega Sports Clinic.

In what was hailed a huge success, over 400 kids aged between 9 and 12 got a taste of Aussie rules, rugby league, netball and basketball in a fun and friendly environment.

Sponsored by Coles Supermarkets, children travelled from all over Victoria to partake in the clinic and all left wearing huge smiles from the day’s activities, which included a skills session, autograph signing and each participant receiving a fantastic show bag of goodies.

Participants were treated to free travel thanks to TEAMelbourne’s Foundation Partner Metlink.

TEAMelbourne CEO, Barry Gibson, said the event was an overwhelming success.

“Despite an unbelievably wet and wild day we were rapt with the number of kids that still turned out for the clinic.

“The kids had a great time and we have received countless congratulatory emails from parents. Many wanted to know when the next clinic would be.

“It was excellent to see the TEAMelbourne alliance at work and we were delighted to have such great support from Coles”, Gibson said.

The next Mega Sports Clinic is scheduled for March 2008.
