THE partnership between the Port Adelaide Football Club and Netball SA will change shape from next season, with the ‘Power’ branding coming off the Thunderbirds uniform and the partnership to focus on community activities.
The change will allow the Power to expand delivery of the club’s community programs, while the Thunderbirds have been able to source new corporate support.
"We've been delighted to team with the Port Adelaide Football Club over the past three years,” Netball SA CEO Stephanie Greene said.
“They had the foresight and vision to back Netball SA at a critical time, as we were stepping into the unknown with the launch of the ANZ Championships.
“We've appreciated Port's support on all levels and look forward to a continuing relationship."
Port Adelaide CEO Mark Haysman said the change would allow the club to focus additional money into directly delivering expanded community and school programs.
“Football and netball are traditionally closely aligned, and will continue to be,” Haysman said.
“This partnership was always about more than a sponsorship. It was and still is about two sports coming together to deliver community programs with healthy lifestyle messages to boys and girls around the state, using the profiles of football and netball players.
“That will be ongoing and we look forward to that work continuing with netball.”
