Melbourne utility Lynden Dunn has accepted the AFL’s Match Review Panel’s ruling of a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.

Dunn was reported and charged with a Level Two striking offence against Brent Harvey during the third quarter of the Round 17 match at the MCG.

The AFL Match Review Panel accessed the incident as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point).

This created a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction.

Dunn’s early plea and no existing good or bad record reduced the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand, and 93.75 points towards his future record.

In other news, Dunn’s second match day report for striking was thrown out by the match review panel.  The impact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence, and no further action was taken.
