BRISBANE Lion Rohan Bewick is in the hunt for the Hungry Jack's Mark of the Year after taking a hanger in the round eight clash against Essendon.

Bewick is the nephew of former Essendon forward Darren Bewick and was equal seventh in the running vertical jump at last year's draft combine.

A big fly from North Melbourne ruckman Todd Goldstein and a strong pack mark from Geelong's James Podsiadly against Collingwood are also in contention.

In the Panasonic Goal of the Year, Fremantle's Nathan Fyfe's outrageous left-foot boomerang from the boundary line against West Coast is one of the nominations.

The game's new super-boot, Gold Coast's Trent McKenzie, has also been included in the nominations after kicking an enormous goal off a step from well inside the square at AAMI Stadium.

Western Bulldog Adam Cooney responded to criticism that he does not kick enough goals with a brilliant snap under immense pressure against Richmond.
