The Brisbane Lions took to the field on Monday morning with a different kind of target in their sights as part of the Coke Zero Team Left Field challenge.

Claye Beams, Cheynee Stiller, Jesse O’Brien, Jared Polec, Pearce Hanley, Andrew Raines, Brad Harvey, Rohan Bewick, Josh Green and Daniel Rich each had the opportunity to show off their precision kicking skills by trying to knock a Coke Zero can off the goal posts.

“It’s for Coke Zero to zero in,” Hanley said. “We’re thirty metres out and we’re attempting to hit the Coke Zero can off the little perch about twenty feet up.

“A few of the boys have cracked it so far, Cheynee Stiller’s doing well but I’ve been bad.”

Stiller was best on ground, nailing the post three times with Hanley, Raines and O’Brien adding to the impressive score posted by the young Lion.

There was also a special moment when Football Administration Officer Adam Spackman stepped in and nailed the post with a soaring kick off his left boot, sending the squad and spectators into raptures.

The Lions posted seven successful kicks at the post in total, smashing the Coke Zero can in the process and earning the team its own place in the Coke Zero Team Left Field Hall of Fame.
