Hawthorn Football Club has regretfully accepted the resignation of Clinton Bown, General Manager Communications and Advanced Media.

Bown has overseen the implementation and delivery of the Hawks New Media strategy and established the first club-based TV production facility in Australian sport.

Bown leaves the Hawks after four years to take on the newly created role of General Manager Consumer Business and Digital Marketing with Carlton Football Club.

Hawthorn CEO Stuart Fox paid credit to Bown's achievements at the Hawks and wished him well.

"Clinton has been an integral part of our executive management team and has made an outstanding contribution to our club, particularly in the area of new media," said Fox.

"He leaves for a great professional opportunity and we wish him all the best."
