PREMIERSHIP players Jordan Lewis and Michael Osborne are among the casualties of Hawthorn's reaction to its disappointing start to 2010.

Coach Alastair Clarkson promised change following last week's loss to Essendon, with Lewis and Osborne among four omissions for Saturday's clash with West Coast at Subiaco Oval. Tom Murphy and Jarrod Kayler-Thomson have also been dumped.

Lance Franklin has been named despite an ankle scare, while Beau Muston, Jarryd Morton, Matthew Suckling and Carl Peterson return to the line-up.

West Coast will unveil first-round draftee Brad Sheppard among three changes to its side.

Geelong has regained Gary Ablett and Matthew Scarlett for Sunday's litmus test against the Sydney Swans.

Ablett missed last week's clash with a tight hamstring while full-back Scarlett resumes from a month on the sidelines with a back injury.

Ruckman Dawson Simpson and the versatile Ryan Gamble are also in the squad, with Brad Ottens the big name out. He will miss up to eight weeks with his foot injury.

Meanwhile, the Swans have confirmed that first-year midfielder Gary Rohan will make his debut on the ground he called home when representing the Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup competition last year.

Collingwood has lost Josh Fraser (knee) and Sharrod Wellingham (calf) for Saturday night's clash with North Melbourne.

Fraser's exclusion has opened the door for emerging ruckman Cameron Wood, while veteran Shane O'Bree has also earned a recall after gathering 30 possessions in the VFL last week.

Daniel Motlop will play his first match for the season for Port Adelaide, which also regains Nathan Krakouer and Jackson Trengove for its match against Essendon on Saturday.

The Brisbane Lions welcome back hard-running duo Jed Adcock and Justin Sherman for Saturday night's home game against Fremantle.

Successive losses encouraged Michael Voss to make four changes, with Amon Buchanan and Troy Selwood both axed.

Richmond will give Graham Polak his first taste of senior football for 2010, with Damien Hardwick looking to make at least three changes for Sunday's game against Adelaide.

Polak played rounds 21 and 22 last season before being delisted and redrafted by the Tigers as a mature-age rookie. Good form in the VFL has earned a promotion him for this match.

Trent Cotchin, Dustin Martin and Richard Tambling are among the other inclusions for the Tigers, who have lost vice-captain Nathan Foley (leg) and Troy Simmonds (knee).

St Kilda may regain Jason Gram and could also blood a couple of debutants, with Rhys Stanley and Nick Heyne among its 25-man squad.

The Saints' opponents, Carlton, have again lost Brock McLean to a hip injury but look set to recall Jarrad Waite after his stint in the VFL.
