The SANFL is the premier State League and governing body for Australian Football in South Australia. This position is located within the successful environment of the SANFL, based at AAMI Stadium and presents an exciting opportunity to join a high-profile sporting organisation.

The Role
This is a newly created role which has become available through a joint partnership with the AFL and the Federal Government that aims to increase employment and participation for young Aboriginal people, through the AFL Indigenous Framework and Employment Strategy.

The Aboriginal Employment & Participation Manager will be pivotal in influencing the development and implementation of employment policies, strategies and Australian Football programs for young Aboriginal people, while engaging with Aboriginal communities, government agencies, corporate partners and football bodies.

Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and manage Aboriginal employment and participation programs that provide young Aboriginal people with physical, social, educational and vocational skills through Australian Football
• Develop partnerships with government agencies and the corporate sector to increase the SANFL’s capacity to deliver programs
• In collaboration with key stakeholders ensure successful delivery of the SAASTA Aboriginal Trainee Partnership program
• Manage, promote and coordinate Aboriginal trainee programs in schools and community organisations

The Role Requirements:
Success in this role will be reliant on your ability to work independently while building relationships with a diverse range of people. Experience in engaging with Aboriginal communities and the key stakeholders is essential.
