Communications & PR Manager
A rare and exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced PR specialist or media and communications professional to join the Gold Coast Football Club. As the Communications & PR Manager you will be responsible for, and oversee all internal and external messaging for the Gold Coast SUNS.
You will play a key role in enabling the club to promote our brand to current and future fans with the ultimate outcome being to increase engagement and connection within the community to grow our fan base.
Reporting directly to the General Manager of Communications, this role is responsible for the supervision and development of our Media Relations Coordinator. You will also work closely with the Digital Content team to effectively communicate the club’s stories and key messages with a focus on proactive communications and increasing reach.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience developing and implementing integrated communications and public relations strategies, key storylines and themes;
- Prior experience working across traditional, digital and social media platforms and with the ability to write concisely, to length and within strict deadlines;
- Exceptional people and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships;
- Strong project management skills and preferably in the sport and entertainment sector;
- An adept understanding of the day-to-day operations within a high profile organisation;
- A resilient work ethic with a passion for sport;
- Experience in a similar role;
- Previous people management experience; and
- A strong personal brand that reflects the Gold Coast SUNS values of Bold, Fresh, Relentless, Dependable, and Community.
Please note that this is not a normal business hours role and the candidate must be flexible to work outside normal business hours including weekends aligned with the requirements of the organisation.
