GREATER Western Sydney and Gold Coast look set to have the biggest say in this year's NAB AFL Draft, with both clubs considering using six picks next month.

AFL.com.au has surveyed clubs and expects a total of up to 76 picks when names are called on November 22-23, however that could drop to 67 total selections with a number of clubs still weighing up their draft plans.

The Giants and Suns are among them, with both clubs to use five or six picks in the national intake.

The AFL's youngest clubs dominate the top of this year's draft, with the Suns holding four picks (No.2, 3, 6 and 24) and the Giants having four (No.9, 11, 19 and 25) in the early range.

Other clubs set for big hand at this year's draft are Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs, who will have four or five picks, and the Saints, who look set to use five selections.

Adelaide, Brisbane, Fremantle, Geelong, Richmond and Sydney are all likely to use four selections, while Carlton, West Coast and Port Adelaide will all consider whether they take three or four picks in the draft. 

Collingwood and Essendon will use three picks, while North Melbourne is also most likely to take three selections in the draft.

The Roos have ties over Next Generation Academy player Tarryn Thomas, father-son Bailey Scott and potentially another father-son in Joel Crocker.

Hawthorn, which doesn't enter the draft until pick No.53, could have the lowest number of selections, with the Hawks to use two or three picks.

Last year's draft had 78 picks, with Brisbane selecting Cam Rayner as the No.1 choice.

There was 77 picks at the 2016 national draft, while 70 players found AFL homes at the 2015 draft.

This year's draft will no longer be held in the middle of Marvel Stadium as previously planned, with a more intimate event scheduled for the opening night, when the first round will be selected. 

The League was planning to make a big splash with its draft event this year, having sent representatives to the NFL draft earlier this year. However it scaled back its plans last week, and fans will not be granted access to the night.
