Collingwood captain Nick Maxwell is one of 10 nominees in the Philips Sports Dad of the Year award.
In its third year, the Philips Sports Dad of the Year highlights 10 elite athletes across a broad range of sporting fields, giving insights into how they juggle fatherhood with their sporting commitments.
Fans that vote for their favourite Sports Dad have the opportunity to win a $5000 Philips Ultimate Father’s Day Grooming Pack while the winning Philips Sports Dad of the Year will win $5000 to donate to their charity of choice (Maxwell's is Bricks for Bears).
Last year, the now retired Sydney Swans captain Brett Kirk raised the flag for the AFL when he was adjudged the winner, he beat a field that included NRL legends Nathan Hindmarsh and Cameron Smith, cycling superstar and Tour de France champion Robbie McEwen, V8 Supercar series winner James Courtney and the man who kicked the Socceroos to their first World Cup in 32 years, John Aloisi.
