Former Club Captain Peter Bell is one of 12 new AFL Life Members that will be inducted at the 2008 Annual General Meeting next month for their services to Australian Football, after having their award confirmed by the AFL Commission.
Peter played his 300th Official AFL game against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium in Round 16 last year. He celebrated the milestone match with a 25 point victory in what was also Mark Harvey’s first game as Senior Coach.
Peter is joined by Western Bulldog Jason Akermanis, Sydney’s Peter Everitt, Essendon’s Dustin Fletcher, North Melbourne’s Shannon Grant and Adam Simpson, Carlton’s Anthony Koutoufides, Brisbane’s Nigel Lappin and Adelaide’s Andrew McLeod as players who achieved AFL Life Membership in the 2007 Season.
"The AFL is always very conscious of its history and recognising those people who have done so much to make our game as strong as it is," AFL Chief Executive Officer Andrew Demetriou said.
"Life Membership of the sport you have served is the ultimate acknowledgement by everyone in the game of your efforts and the new inductees are indeed extremely deserving.”
