COACHING twins Chris and Brad Scott will face each other for the first time in the opening round of the 2011 NAB Cup.

The clash between their clubs, Geelong and North Melbourne, has been scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 20 at Skilled Stadium.

Because the early stages of the pre-season competition have been revamped for next season, 18 teams, including Greater Western Sydney, will be divided into six pools for round one.

The Cats, Kangaroos and the Western Bulldogs are the three clubs to make up pool six, and they will play each other in games consisting of 20-minute halves.

Geelong versus North Melbourne is the first game of the afternoon, beginning at 4.15pm. It will be telecast on Fox Sports.

After three seasons as an assistant coach at Fremantle, Chris Scott was named as Mark Thompson's replacement earlier this week.

Brad recently completed his first season at the helm of the Kangaroos, with his team finishing ninth on the ladder, an effort that was regarded as a success by many footy watchers.

The 34-year-old twin brothers were both part of the Brisbane Lions' 2001 and 2002 premierships.

The 2011 NAB Cup will begin at AAMI Stadium on Friday, February 11.

The rest of the competition's fixture will be released on Tuesday morning.
