We have a fantastic and rare opportunity for a talented and dedicated Strength & Conditioning Assistant to join our team at the Brisbane Lions A.F.C.

Reporting to the Physical Performance Manager, the Strength & Conditioning Assistant is responsible for the design and implementation of various elements of the physical performance program to ensure players develop and maintain the physical capabilities to effectively execute the Brisbane Lions game plan. This will be achieved by delivering best practice strength and conditioning programs that drive elite standards of physical performance. Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•    Design, implement and deliver strength programs for 1-4 yr players in line with Strength & Conditioning Coach’s philosophies
•    Deliver performance pre-hab and body maintenance programs
•    Assist in delivery of conditioning programs during all field based training programs
•    Delivery of speed, training warm-up and recovery sessions
•    Provide an elite training environment to ensure players are able to perform at their best
•    Ensure standards and guidelines of all training areas are adhered to by all players and staff

The ideal candidate will possess formal qualifications in Sports Science, Human Movement or similar, proven experience in the design and implementation of S&C programs, and sound knowledge of current elite practices and technologies in the S&C area. You should possess highly developed communication (written, verbal, listening) and organisational skills, have exceptional attention to detail and remain calm during high-pressure situations. You must be a team player and be able to build relationships in order to achieve common goals. IT skills (Mac) are essential.
Due to the nature of the industry, the ideal candidate must be flexible in their availability as odd hours, weekend work and some interstate travel is required for this role. The role is initially for a two year fixed-term contract.
