We have a fantastic and rare opportunity for a talented and dedicated Sports Science & Performance Analyst to join our team at the Brisbane Lions A.F.C.

Reporting to the Physical Performance Manager, the purpose of this role is to provide current best practice Sports Science services that drive innovation in the Physical Performance Program. This is to be achieved through the capture, monitor and analysis of performance data to provide high level reporting that directly impacts on decision making of the football and physical performance programs, as well as to educate players and coaching staff on what is considered an elite level of performance. This role has four key areas of responsibility:

Performance capture and analysis services:
•    Daily Training Reports outlining team loads and performance
•    Individual Reports that provide players with information to improve performance KPIs
•    Provide player wellness monitoring data to the Physical Performance Manager
•    Provide weekly reports on team and player game day performance
•    Coordinate and manage the implementation of an injury management system (Athletic Logic)
•    In consultation with the Physical Performance Manager, contribute to the development of systems and frameworks that continually improve performance of players, and staff, and keep ahead of competitors
Match day (Reserves Team)
•    Coordinate the delivery of game day nutrition and recovery practices
•    Perform match day rotation duties for the reserves team
•    Perform match day warm-up for the reserves team
Strength & Conditioning
•    Assist in delivery of cross-training sessions during football and conditioning based sessions
•    Assist the Strength Coach with load monitoring systems and strength science
•    Manage the delivery and collection of cross-training programs
•    Coordinate and manage the University Sports Science students (2)
Sports Science
•    Drive and present current best practice sports science strategies and innovations to the Physical Performance Manager

The ideal candidate will possess formal qualifications in Sports Science, Human Movement or similar, and sound knowledge of current elite practices and technologies in the Sports Science area. Previous experience as a data and information analyst in a sporting environment, as well as a good analytical mind and problem solving skills to be able to interpret and apply numerical and statistical reasoning is essential to be successful in this role. You should possess highly developed communication (written, verbal, listening) and organisational skills, have exceptional attention to detail and remain calm during high-pressure situations. You must be a team player and be able to build relationships in order to achieve common goals. IT skills (Mac) are essential, with a high level of Excel skills paramount and experience in Sports Code and Catapult will also be highly regarded.
Due to the nature of the industry, the ideal candidate must be flexible in their availability as odd hours, weekend work and some interstate travel is required for this role. The role is initially for a two year fixed-term contract.
