Both players have been working to overcome hamstring injuries sustained in the loss to the Sydney Swans in round 11.
In their absence, the Bombers lost the next two games - against Geelong and Hawthorn - and now sit two matches outside the top eight.
But general manager of football Paul Hamilton said the pair would return to spearhead Essendon's hopeful run to the finals in the second half of the year.
“They have both recovered really well from their hamstring injuries and should both play against Adelaide in Adelaide,” Hamilton told the club website.
“They are both very important players for the team so we would love to have them back in there.”
Ricky Dyson and Courtenay Dempsey, who were both dropped ahead of the match against Hawthorn, were also rested from VFL duties on the weekend.
Hamilton said the lay-off was intentional and designed to make sure each was fully fit and available for the match against the Crows.
“Courtenay had a little bit of hamstring tightness which is the reason he didn’t play. We don’t think it is anything sinister, we just decided we were better off not playing him at all," he said.
“Ricky has just had a number of small problems he has persevered with. We decided just to rest him altogether, giving him two full weekends off so that from a body point-of-view he is ready to go and ready to rip in the second half of the season.”
Hamilton said Tayte Pears was out of intensive care and had moved into his own room in hospital.
The young defender will not play again in 2010 after having surgery on his bruised pancreas last Saturday.
