With just three weeks left in the home and away season, Sydney Swans defender Tadhg Kennelly and Geelong Cats captain Tom Harley are hoping for a big crowd at this Saturday's clash at ANZ Stadium.

Kennelly said a large and vocal crowd could work to the Swans advantage.

"Hopefully if we can get the crowd behind our backs; it's a great stadium for it. Geelong have been the form team of the last two years and it's a good chance to test yourself ahead of the finals against a champion team," he said.

“The size of the crowd at ANZ is gigantic.  The more we get out there, the better it is for us, to get the support.  Hopefully we can get on Geelong early and get the crowd on our backs.

“It can be like having a 19th Man.  With a crowd like that, it can be like that, if you get a jump on the other time.  If you can get the crowd on your backs, it’s a great stadium for it.”

Geelong have dominated the AFL competition for the last two season, and Kennelly said he is looking forward to the challenge of taking on the top side.

“With wins 37 in 39 games, they’re definitely the in-form team of the last two years.  It’s a good time to be playing them, coming into the finals.  You can test yourself against a champion team.  It’s good for us.  The only thing is you’ve all got to play well to beat a team like Geelong.”

Harley said he is also hoping for a big crowd for the match.

“For us, the more people that can come [to the game], the better, and obviously ANZ Stadium can old more people,” said Harley.

“I flew up on a flight out of Avalon today, and there were probably 30 or 40 Geelong supporters, all decked out already.  Our supporters are pretty keen, they’re following us all around the country at the moment, which is great.

“I’m really looking forward to it.  I’ve never played at ANZ Stadium before.  We’re training there on Friday night, just to get a bit of a feel for it.”

With just three weeks until finals, the match could possibly be a preview of things to come.

“As Tadhg said, it’s a big game,” said Harley.

“I think, between Geelong and Sydney, we’ve got some history of great games, going back to the final a few years ago when they went on to win the flag.

“It’s a nice tune-up for the finals.  Sydney are in fourth at the moment, so it could be a good preview for a qualifying final in a month’s time.”

With the minor premiership all-but wrapped up, Harley denied his side will look to rest key players in coming weeks, and will be at their full strength on Saturday.

“We’re obviously here to win, no doubt about that,” said Harley.

“It’s a big game, and it’s a showpiece game for the AFL.  We won’t be taking the foot off the accelerator at all.
