Adcock said the Lions players wouldn't let last week's result dampen their spirits and is confident the team can get back into the winning form seen over the first four rounds.
"I think [a loss like Geelong] plays a lot mentally on you, but I don’t think it is an attitude problem [within the playing group] at all," Adcock said.
"We just have to get back to playing how we want to play."
The Lions will face the 15th placed Adelaide Crows this Sunday at AAMI Stadium and both teams will be eager to come away with the four points to steer their season back in the right direction.
"Adelaide play within their structures really well and they can get away from you really easily," Adcock said.
The Crows will be without Bernie Vince, Graham Johncock and Matthew Jaensch for this Sunday's match after they were handed a one week club-imposed suspension for being in breach of "training and preparation standards".
Despite the fact that the Crows have managed just one win so far this season, Lions midfielder Michael Rischitelli says the team will not approach the game any differently.
"Every team in the competition can be pretty dangerous at the moment and we know what the Crows are capable of," Rischitelli said.
"We just want to go to Adelaide and get a win."
Both teams will have an eight-day break heading into the game, which is the something the Lions need to maximise according to Senor Coach Michael Voss.
"For us, it’s about being able to fully recover physically and mentally and getting ourselves 100% right,” Voss said on Monday.
"The tendency is when you get a six-day break you have to do everything right. An eight-day break is when you make your most gains."
