When it comes to high profile fans, the Sydney Swans are always well represented on the celebrity front.

Seven-time World Surfing Champion, Layne Beachley, Netball stars Liz Ellis and Catherine Cox and media personality Deborah Hutton kicked off the first week of the Finals by sending their beloved Swans a Telstra AFL HeroMessage.

And it’s no surprise that they’d love captain courageous Brett Kirk to finish his stellar career on a high.

Layne Beachley: "C'mon the red and white! Give Brett Kirk the dream grand final farewell he so rightly deserves. You can do it! Go the Mighty Swans!"

Liz Ellis: September time is Bloods time.  You guys know what it is about - focus on the process, get the little things right, and channel Brett Kirk!  Good luck - I will be cheering my red and white heart out.

Cath Cox: "No matter what happens we will all still love our Sydney Swans. However, naturally we'll love you a whole lot more when you have the Premiership Cup in hand! Best of luck boys.”

Deborah Hutton: "To our boys in red and white...what a year, we're almost there. For our new young guns and our two departing hero's, let's finish it in true style...Swans style! We'll be with you every step of the way."

Swans fans across the nation can also inspire their heroes by sending a personal and heartfelt Telstra AFL HeroMessage during the Finals Series.

An AFL HeroMessage can be sent by text message* to 0448 300 500 from your mobile or by visiting the AFL website.

In an exciting culmination to the HeroMessage campaign, the captains of the two Grand Final teams will be presented on stage at the Grand Final Parade, with a bound book of HeroMessages on behalf of all fans.
