King has been charged with a level one engaging in rough conduct offence against Andy Otten during the third quarter of the round 23 match between Richmond and Adelaide, played at AAMI Stadium on Sunday.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from Adelaide, the incident was assessed a negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points).
This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One offence drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction.
King has an existing poor record of five matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 50 per cent to 187.50 points. He has also 84.35 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 271.85 points and a two-match sanction.
