It’s one of the biggest and most enjoyable days on the North Melbourne calendar - and the 2010 Harvey’s Heroes Clinic was bigger and better than ever.

With the sun shining down onto the Arden Street oval, almost 800 kids turned out for a memorable day with the Kangaroos’ players.

“To see this many children come down for a clinic is amazing. Every year it seems to get bigger and bigger and it blows me away,” Brent Harvey told kangaroos.com.au.

“The boys look forward to it and when you see the kids smiling and having fun, it makes it enjoyable for us too.”

Harvey’s own children Cooper and Lacie also got involved, taking part in hand-balling, kicking, tackling and marking drills.

“It makes me proud to see so many kids with North Melbourne jumpers on having such a good day.”

The Melbourne Tigers NBL basketball side also joined in holding a special clinic on the new indoor court.

Tigers’ stars Daryl Corletto, Matt Burstan and Tom Greer joined Sam Wright and Todd Goldstein on the polished floorboards to pass on some tips on how to shoot hoops.

“I played a bit of basketball when I was growing up but the Tigers’ boys have got it all under control in here,” Goldstein commented.

The majority of the action took place outside with Alan Obst, Scott Thompson and Ryan Bastinac handling the popular speccy bag.

“Some of the kids have taken some pretty good hangers,” Thompson said.
After the skills sessions, the players stayed around to mingle.

“You have kids coming up for autographs, photos and sometimes just to shake your hand and say g’day,” Jack Ziebell said.

“There are some talented youngsters out there and we told them to do their best because the North recruiters would be watching on throughout the day.”
