"They've got some injuries no doubt, but in terms of the calibre of players they do have available it's a pretty strong looking side on the paper," Scott said on Thursday.
The Dockers look set to recall midfielder David Mundy and the underrated Kepler Bradley for Saturday night's must-win clash.
"It's potentially the last roll of the dice for them. Mundy's a quality player and they did the same with Sandilands last week…so who's missing from their side? I think they've got pretty close to their best available side."
Mundy was close to best-on-ground when the teams last met early in the year and while he hasn't played since round 12, he will be a huge addition.
"They are a different proposition to what they were a month ago and we are expecting them to be at their best.
"The way Fremantle present themselves is very different when Sandilands, Pavlich and Mundy are in the same side."
The possible inclusion of Bradley could prove just as important. He had 15 possessions and booted two goals in the Dockers' round three win against North Melbourne and his availability now gives Mark Harvey the dilemma of whether to go in with three talls. Adam McPhee must also be considered.
"Kepler Bradley shouldered the back-up duties for Fremantle in the past.
"While Zac Clarke's been in terrific form and I've been really impressed with the way he's played, it potentially a structural problem for them too, because Bradley's been that back-up ruck, and with Bradley, Clarke, Sandilands as well it's a bit of a different look to the Fremantle we've seen in the past."
The Kangaroos' coach believes his team is more than equipped to handle anything thrown at them, despite Todd Goldstein expected to again be the only ruckman in the 22.
"Don't expect Todd (Goldstein) to handle it by himself, " Scott said.
"Drew Petrie and Cam Pederson can play in there as well and Lachie Hansen is 197cm."
Fremantle has lost its last four and 13 of its last 15 at Etihad Stadium, but Scott believes North Melbourne will need to be right on its game if its to keep its finals hopes alive.
"They (Fremantle) are a different proposition to what they were a month ago, and we are expecting them to be at their best.
