Collingwood's official Facebook Fan Page has broken the 100,000 fan mark.

The Magpies are the first club in the AFL to hit the milestone.

The fan page received a massive boost over the club's finals campaign with supporters from all over the world 'liking' facebook.com/collingwoodfc.  Over 94% of fans interacted with the page during the finals.

Collingwood leveraged off the team's success by launching several initiatives to build the numbers.  The SIDE BY SIDE competition was the standout with thousands of supporters telling the club why they love to stand side by side with the Pies. Click here to view the competition's results.

The Facebook page was launched in early 2009 and has been incorporated into the club's communication strategy with its members and supporters.

Collingwood's website, www.collingwoodfc.com.au, has utilised Facebook's ability to communicate with the club's following on a daily basis.

From lunchtime like or dislikes, to reaction from supporters regarding Thursday's selection, the page houses the running pulse of the Magpie Army.
